Strength collides

~ I took this picture at the beach yesterday afternoon, it was so calm and tranquil, very fitting ~

Happy Tuesday !!

… So, Yesterday I out did myself, for myself, and I couldn’t be any prouder, of myself. You know those moments you have where you just KNOW that you are doing the right thing, and you just feel this complete overwhelming sensation of “it’s going to be OK”… “Everything really is going to be ok”… These words just kept playing over and over in my mind. Whatever was going to happen, would happen. All I could do to honour myself was be present, completely present, mind, body.soul in that moment, and to be strong and gracious at the same time. Lydia C. Lee - Enough of those moments put together make a happy life. I’m glad you had one of those moments, and I’m glad you are feeling support.
Hang in there, one step at a time and soon you’ll hit your strides again! (I hate the way those comments always sound patronising – please read with the intent they’re meant with)

The Life of Clare - Looks delicious! I need to get on this! I’ve been feeling a bit run down and particularly lazy when it comes to breakfast! So I think the protein will do me good!

May 21, 2013 - 9:07 am

Me - I have never thought of having quinoa for breakfast to me it has always been a rice substitute – I may have to give this a try – especially now that the mornings are getting chilly and oats is off the menu.
Have the best day !

May 21, 2013 - 10:03 am

Lyndal - Isn’t it just great Jodi – so versatile!

May 21, 2013 - 10:05 am

Lyndal - Oh! L! I thought of you the other day – I picked up an old old fitness mag at home and they had a weekly paleo meal plan. TBH I hadn’t thought of quinoa for breakfast, but it brings a good amount of savoury to often too sweet breakfasts xx

May 21, 2013 - 10:25 am

Liz @ Clover Feet - Quinoa and shredded coconut is my favourite for breakfast. It’s so great that you can cook a batch at the begining of the week, store it the fridge and just heat up a portion for breakfast every morning.

May 21, 2013 - 11:15 am

Twitchy - Loving ALL the things in this- just about listed all my favourites. Am so curious to try cacao nibs too. I love a ‘purple porridge, blueberry) in Winter and am also off wheat at the moment, so have been having rice. This has just been bookmarked! #teamIBOT

Leanne @ Deep Fried Fruit - I have absolutely no idea what quinoa is. But now I want to find out!

the_wolf_of_oz - Seriously ??

Whats wrong with bacon and eggs ?
Hash brown ?
Toast ?
Maybe a sausage.

And if you want “greens” add a tomato !

Why on earth would you eat something I cant even pronounce !

May 21, 2013 - 4:49 pm

Seana - Sydney, Kids, Food + Travel - That looks fantastic and I need a brekkie quinoa recipe, about to clip to Evernote. Thank you!!

May 21, 2013 - 6:32 pm

Rachel @ The Kids Are All Right - This looks absolutely delicious. I would totally eat it if someone put it in front of me. Thing is, at 6am, the most effort I can muster is a cup of tea and piece of toast 🙂

May 21, 2013 - 9:20 pm

Deb @ Home life simplified - I tried quinoa on the family once and it was bland and yuck and i have been too scared to try again but i know i want to and need to – this might fit the bill for me (even if they don’t try it lol)

May 22, 2013 - 8:35 am

Lyndal - Liz, amen to that! the best feeling knowing its already done, so easy!!

May 22, 2013 - 8:36 am

Lyndal - Twitchy – cacao nibs are slightly bitter (i wasnt prepared for that when i first tried them!! but delish all the same!

May 22, 2013 - 8:37 am

Lyndal - ha ha ha i was the same until about a few weeks ago Leanne! Have fun exploring

May 22, 2013 - 8:37 am

Lyndal - Hey Wolf, your insides hate you. The End.

May 22, 2013 - 8:38 am

Lyndal - Oh, I hear you Rach – that 6am time is just evil!!

May 22, 2013 - 8:40 am

Lyndal - oh deb – i hear you on this one… it took a bit of experimenting for me to find ways i actually enjoyed it. Coles stock a brand called celebrate health and do tomato&Basil, Lemon&Thyme and medditeranian flavours which i found so helpful when i was getting used to the texture and taste…

May 22, 2013 - 1:53 pm

Jenn Unger - Yum!! Looks delish. I’m doing quinoa flake and chia ‘porridge’ at the moment – just cover with enough boiling water to soften really then add yoghurt/nuts/seeds/fruit etc… Will have to try this recipe out 🙂

May 23, 2013 - 7:51 am

Lyndal - Let me know how you go Seana, enjoy!! x
